Using Pintrest to boost my inner creativity!

As all bloggers know (or should know by now) - Pintrest is amaze. It's like a blogger's paradise. What ever did we do without it?

Ok so I've had Pintrest for ages, but shamefully enough - up until about a month ago I didn't really use it, mainly because I didn't understand how it all works...but now I'm a woman obsessed. It brings out my my ID and my Superego all at once. That was a psychological reference to Freud, if you ever did Psychology. I did and I got a U (wow). Anyway, that story is for another day!

So the last couple of weeks  I have been checking out all the amazing crafts and DIY stuff you can do at really great prices. I've slowly been collecting DIY cut outs so that I can start to blog about them more and just been generally more creative. Making your own ornaments is tonnes of fun because you can make presents for others and for yourself. Once I've got my self together and have devised a plan; be prepared to get your hands covered in glitter and glue because I'm gonna be making these DIY blog posts a whole lot more regular. I did a DIY demo on Tie-Dye tops once which you can view Here. I just think it is important to flourish my own creativity and show you all what I create, so that you can do the same.

However, today I have been looking at the Food & Drinks page on Pinners as I, again want to be more creative and start making super healthy food from scratch. With my boyfriend playing football a lot and me being a feeder, I think it would be nice to make some delish grub for when he gets home. Today I am thinking something Moroccan with Chicken in it.

Shock though, as per I got distracted. Pintrest is full of desserts varying from homemade cheesecakes to  peppermint cookies and oh my they look UNREAL.

You can check out the recipes: Here , here and here.

Holiday Purchases!

River Island is full of some amazing holiday pieces at the moment.

Last weekend I went to Leeds shopping to get my last few things before I go on holiday. I have to say, a lot of the time in the past I've never been keen on River Island, it's somewhere I always shrugged off - purely because their attempts at fulfilling current trends were just a fail and just didn't impress me.

However, I have always loved River Islands holiday gear and this year especially - I was certainly not dissapointed. The Leeds river Island store was amazing, it was full of some beautiful pieces and I really did just want to buy everything.

The images above are a few of the purchases I made from River Island. I fell in love with the exotic and vibrant pieces they had in store. Nothing says "I'm on holiday" like these gorgeous items. They just scream colour; which is what I love about them. Originally, I just intended to purchase another bikini to add to my collection but after seeing this cut out, criss cross back swimsuit - I just had to buy it. Also, the bikini overlay that I purchased has been on my wishlist since like...FOREVER. I am so happy it is now in my life. The feather charm headpiece however was just a last minute impulse buy. It is so pretty! As soon as I saw it I knew I just had to buy it - these three pieces go perfectly together and create the ultimate holiday vibe. When I tried this outfit on in the RI changing rooms I just felt like a pretty little mermaid that belongs in a blue lagoon!!! SO impressed with River Island as of late and I adore the new RiRi Tie Dye collection also.

My New Job!

Hoooray! The quest on finding the perfect social media apprenticeship is over. I am now full time employed.

I'm SO excited! Honestly, I could just burst with excitement.

So I'm working for a web design and marketing company called Rocket Powered as a Media and PR Manager. I'll be responsible for all things social i.e. - Blogging, Tweeting, Facebooking, Instagramming and pinning away on Pintrest. I'm so happy that I've landed this job because its absolutely perfect for me, as my job involves doing all my favourite things. Although the company isn't fashion based, I will still be writing - which as you can probably tell with me being an aspiring journo - is my ultimate passion.

The people I work with are absolutely amaze and made me feel so at home. Megan (the other girl in the office even made me a cake) - which I thought was dead cute. Everyone in the office is such a laugh. It's laid back but because we're like a little family, everybody loves going to work and is really serious about what they do.

Initially, I was worrying thinking that I'd made the wrong decision after deciding not to go to uni but now I am positive I have made the right decision because I'm doing something I'm love. Not only that but I'm still learning but getting paid AND I wont have a massive pile of debts at the end of it (hopefully).

Just thought I'd share with you all my excitement!!

Vintage or just being purely chiconomic?

So, along with most girls my age - keeping in with the fashion trends is just a great struggle really isn't it. We're all desperate to be part of the new cult trend, with only one problem on our hands...how on earth do you fund it. I always tell myself 'I am fashionable and I know what I want, I just don't have the funds to prove it'. If you're currently a student or even unemployed, you've probably reassured yourself with this statement many times.

As we all do, being on trend isn't cheap. Or is it? Fashion recycles and reinvents itself all the time, so who's to say that one day your  acid wash flares wont come in handy? You could always keep them until the next time round and re-work them (or not.) However, you can keep staple pieces or dig through your parents' wardrobe. You'll probably surprise yourself. I mean, never did I think back in the day that an oversized tee would be fashionable, now its all the range. Luckily, my dads wardrobe was heaving with them.

What I'm getting at is - just because you're on a budget it doesn't mean you can't be fashionable. Visit thrift shops, vintage shops, charity shops and look through your old relatives' wardrobe (with permission of course) and re-work/customize clothes so that its on trend but unique at the same time. In all honesty, all my life I have slated charity shops and thought it was the most embarrassing thing ever when my mum dragged me in one. Yet, these days I go in on a regular basis. I'll tell you how it is though - in towns like mine, the charity shops are shocking. You'll probably have to raid through a thousand garments bin worthy before you find a hidden gem. I was well impressed with my self the other week when I was looking in a shabby charity shop and came across a Yves Saint Laurent short. To later which I took home and cut up, to make slightly more on trend.

Shoot with Dirty Sexy Things star - Charlotte De Carle

I recently had the wonderful opportunity of assisting on a photo shoot with star of the hit series Dirty Sexy Things - Charlotte De Carle (aka Professor Green's best friend!). The shoot had the whole Monochrome trend hitting off, in order to feature in an issue of Closer in the near future.

Working on this photo shoot really was an amazing opportunity and I got to work with some great people within the industry. Its a pretty cool feeling to be able to say I've worked with somebody who has done Rihanna's make up and somebody who has styled Victoria Beckham.

The sun was beaming all day and for us - this was perfect, as we were very keen to get some shots done outside.

I've always thought I wanted to just be involved with the journalism side of fashion but after experimenting with styling, I found it really enjoyable and have decided I'm going to try and mix things up a little with regards to my future career.

Time to ditch the Scousebrows?

I've done it, we've all done it, some people are still doing it. Drawing our eyebrows on has become a huge thing in the past year or so but is it time to ditch that look?

I originally started drawing my eyebrows on about 3 years ago purely because I'm naturally fair haired and then it just turned into a habit. It wasn't until about 4 months ago I decided enough is enough. Everybody has seemed to have joined the hype and if I'm honest they're are some horrendous brows walking the streets. I'll be the first to admit I've done it in the past but since I've stopped I know notice how ridiculous they look .(Sorry if I offend anyone.)

I now go and get my eyebrows tinted every month and kinda opt for the Kimmy K sort of look. Its more natural, more classy and less hassle in a morning. If you pencil in your eyebrows, you'll know that if you're having a bad eyebrow day, it will feel like you're having a bad life.

What do you all think? Am I being completely ridiculous here or do you agree?
Let me know! xo

DIY: Jelly Belly badge

After trying the Jelly Belly Gourmet Soda Pop drinks on several occasions, I spotted that the bottle tops are quite quirky and retro looking. I thought it would be a waste to throw something away that has potential, so I popped two holes in the sides and stuck a safety pin onto it. The final product: my very own jelly belly badge.

You can buy the drinks from most American Candy stores. Try it for your self and give your vintage Levis denim that little bit of edge!

Harry Potter Studio Tour/Valentines Day

So for mine and Kyles first Valentines Day together we decided to go to our ultimate fave restaurant -Prezzos. (If you haven't been before I would totez recommend it to you). It's a delicious Italian with an amazing relaxed ambiance. It was lovely!

Although we had a relaxed evening on the Thursday we was rushing about the next day to catch our train to Kings Cross to start our little weekend away in London. Both beaming with excitement - we began our little adventure.

We decided to stay in Earls Court because I've been there before and it's a nice area of London! First stop; The Harry Potter Studio Tour London. If you're a HP fanatic like myself and haven't been yet...you must go! At a steady £30 it's definitely worth your money. However I won't share any secrets that were revealed as I don't want to ruin it for any readers who are planning on going.

Closer Magazine work exp.

After weeks of spending my days writing out cover letters and sending my CV's to various publications, I was absolutely thrilled this morning when I received a phone call from Closer Magazine offering me work experience. However, the magazine is based in central London so hotels are going to cost me a bomb :(.

I automatically said yes obviously, because I mean how can I possibly turn an opportunity like that down? Writing or working in Fashion is what I want my future to be and so I need to make the most of this! I'm so excited, I couldn't think straight whilst I was on the phone. Its strange because these past few weeks I've been really down, because earlier this year I made the decision not to go to university but to make my way into the industry this way and then work my way up. Despite sending out applications here, there and everywhere I just began to feel a little disheartened as I was receiving nothing.

With all my friends talking about university, it had been constantly playing on my mind and making me think 'have I made the right decision?' - Last year I did work experience at Bliss Magazine and my local newspaper but this simply isn't enough to allow me to barge my way into the industry. So, after receiving this wonderful phone call today; I feel as though my hard work is paying off and maybe I have made the right decision after all. Only time will tell.

All I know is that I'm very excited right now! Just thought I'd share that with you all. xo

Street Style, Ombre and Girl Problems!

So, as you all know I am a massive fan of the brand 'The Ragged Priest'. I've previously written a post about it. The Ragged Priest is an independent street style brand which I love.  Anyway, my boyfriend being the wonderful person he is,  bought me a beanie hat and a dress from there. I've wanted this beanie for ages so I was dead happy when he got me this. The dress, I also love. It is half denim, half leather. The pictures maybe deceiving but this dress is actually really tight around my ass!!! - but cause I love it so much, I'll make it fit. The only trouble with The Ragged Priest is that the sizing is a 'one size fits all' and is supposed to fit a size 6-12 and me being a 10, well I do struggle!

I just thought I'd upload that picture as it really shows off my ombre hair and brings out the colour and I thought it looked pretty cool - however I'll let you be the judge of that.

Then yesterday I took a quick detour to Asda to get a few things for tea, but as per I got distracted and ended up getting some Disney Princess Bubble Bath (Ooops) - girl problems ey. I also purchased a box of Fruit Loops as I always used to see these on American TV programmes and wanted to try them. They taste amaze, no joke. Oh and I also decided to get The Life Of Pi book because I recently went to see the film at the cinema and I loved it.
mwah. xo

January Haul/Wanelo

Being the MAC obsessive that I am, I was more than impressed when my sister bought me this MAC Bronzer ( shade - Golden). Before receiving this I had been getting by on some bronzer I had owned for years on end, so this felt like a god send and I was extremely grateful. I'd definitely recommend this product as it really is worth it and gives your cheeks great definition. It works especially well, when used with the MAC Mineral Brush (as shown in the top right) - which is also another gift I received and now entirely depend on.
If any of you know me, you will know that I have been slumming it with an awful scruffy purse for quite some time now and this weekend I just thought, you know - enough is enough. Time for a new addition. Therefore I popped into River Island and picked up this little beauty. At 10 swarzee (pounds) I cannot complain. Its pretty and it does the job. Again, if my previous posts are anything to go by, you will know that I have been desperate to get my hands on some spiked Jeffrey Cambells. Unfortunately these aren't the real thing *sigh* poor people problems, I know. However this almost exact replicate are good enough for me.

I recently came across this new social networking platform for all you other fashionistas out there. Its amazing! I'm addicted already. Its an app called 'Wanelo'. God only knows how you pronounce it, but anyway you should seriously download it. The stream of products are available to buy at just one click and you can get some lovely unique stuff on here and some great quirky gifts! Follow me :-) - @larzxo

I was more than delighted when my friend bought me these for my birthday. I'm already a big fan of the pink and blue bottles - but honestly this Jelly Belly Very Cherry drink is something else. It tastes amazzzzzzzing.

This is one of the presents that my boyfriend bought me from Eric Vintage in Newcastle. Obviously 'BEST' is my new favourite brand. There is also a shop in Leeds! I love love love it.

My weekend in photos

This weekend I actually socialised (shocker!). Problem is I enjoy my own company far too much and when my friends go out in town I either stay at home watching Keeping up with the Kardashians or have a Sex in The City marathon. Either that or I'm working. However this week I thought I would venture out and see what all the fuss is about. I spent the evening with my two best friends which was well overdue.

I also got my Christmas shopping done. However I almost had a breakdown In Vivienne Westwood because I was buying for other people and not my self. I didn't even let my self loose in Topshop because I knew I'd end up spending all my money on me! I went to Nottingham, which is one of my favourite cities - mainly because pretty much all my favourite shops are there.

Thought I'd post a selfie of my weekend outfit: Peplem top, Leather Jacket and All Saints jeans. Sunday was spent recovering from the night before and my lovely sister cooked us a delicious Sunday dinner. All in all a wonderful weekend. However I am now procrastinating as I am supposed to be doing my English Coursework. Boohoo!

Oh and does anybody wish to purchase that amazing beanie and leather tinsel dress for me? Please :(

MAC Lipstick Giveaway

Yes its exactly what it says on the title! When I reach 150 followers (which is hopefully asap) I thought I'd give a little something back to my  readers. This is how it works:  leave a comment below just stating you would like to enter then once I reach 150 followers - I will then give a number to every person who enters and pick out of a hat. That way its fair! Then of course the winner will win a brand new MAC Lipstick in the shade 'Saint Germain'. Obviously addresses and further details will be needed once the winner is announced! (product is shown below) Good luck and spread the word :-)

It's the weekend!

And it's finally the weekend! However, I certainly don't have time to relax this weekend, I'm afraid it's all go.

Last night I totted off to work and didnt get home til 3am and then I had to get up at 10am *sniffs*. Although I don't particularly mind because I went shopping in Lincoln; it was so Christmassy and there was a lovely atmosphere so I really enjoyed it especially spending time with my Nanny. We managed to get lots of presents.

Is anyone else suffering from chapped lips this week? This cold weather has hit me hard. My pale skin can't battle with this weather any longer, I feel as though I'm constantly slapping on moisturiser and lip balm.

At some point this weekend I need to book my train ticket to Newcastle, which I am really looking forward to. Oh and that picture is of the River Trent which has overflown the river bank. Scary stuff!!!!

Enchanted, unicorns, sequins and festivities!!

Is it just me or are Unicorns everywhere recently?! Although most days I look like a gothic/grunge queen there is definitely a pastel princess lurking somewhere within. I am in love with this enchanted Unicorn trend; it's full of girlyness and sparkle. The rainbow colours excite me so much and just make me feel really happy. I am totally going to invest in the powder blue Unicorn Jumper from Urban Outfitters. I mean how can you possibly resist it? It would be the cutest asset to any girls wardrobe. As for the little enchanted bandage tin, I would just have to purchase for its adorability factor; although ill admit £7 is a little steep purely for bandages. However I'm sure I would find some way to justify the price. Also, i intend on having this my little pony cake for my 18th. It literally has my name on it. It's meant to be I guess.

Just thought I'd add a quick selfie as well! Thought i'd opt for my treasured leather jacket today!!! Oh and give a warm welcome to our first festive and wonderful family addition (the Santa Clause in my front window.)

Shop shop shopping Kanye and Coffee

Been a pretty standard but enjoyable day today. Normally I absolutely despise Tuesdays due to me having a full day at sixth form which is both monotonous and dull. Usually by the end of the day I find me dragging myself home feeling really drained and mind boggled. I really cannot hack education.

Rant over. However, today me and my friend Amy took a leisurely trip to Meadowhall in Sheffield to acquire my best friends birthday present. Luckily enough we had a successful trip, as well as the opportunity to daze at the beautiful sparkly Christmas lights in admiration. We also took a quick detour to Starbucks; in which we managed to people watch, discuss society and our views on narrow minded people and also talk in depth about our sexuality. All in all, a brilliant day. I also managed to get myself a right bargain - a Kanye West t-shirt (I love Kanye!) . I'm now home and ready to watch the highlight of the week: Geordie Shore, lovely.

It's because I'm green isn't it?

Yes the title of this post is from The Grinch in case you were wondering. I thought it was rather appropriate for the image I've posted, god knows what possessed me to wear all green, reckon I'm turning into a Scrooge this year or something. Anyhow, as usual today I wasn't feeling particularly girly; therefore I threw on some Nike Blazers, the all famous Topshop 'Geek' top and my sacred Ragged Priest coat, along with some leggings.

I'm desperate to go shopping however I am lacking funds due to buying Christmas presents. However I'm not complaining because I enjoy buying people presents and seeing their face when they unwrap it. I had a bit of a splurge on ASOS tonight though and managed to buy most of my boyfriends' presents so it has been a rather successful/productive evening.

Other than that, my day has been consumed by studying, reading Kardashian Konfidential (I would highly recommend) and watching American TV on E! Such an interesting life I lead. Hope you're all well my lovelies! xo

Studs, jumpers, winter and work.

Is it me or is it absolutely fweeeeezing this morning?! ( trust me it is.) However, I'm not one to complain about the crisp winter weather, I love it. There is nothing more thrilling than venturing outside in the cold whilst you're all snuggled. I tend to stand on crunchy leaves at any opportunity.

Once again it's been a busy week for me. I've not even had time to go out a jog, which I was slightly disappointed about but hey-ho. So the picture shows my outfit today with my little ted bag (duh!). I decided to opt for my studded jumper as I have yet to of worn if until now for some reason unknown.

This week I went out for a costa with my lovely friend from work; Jacob as he is leaving me to go to Australia for a year the lucky person! Boohoo. However I really enjoyed it.

Really considering getting a rich, decent leave in conditioner at some point this week as my hair is just in need of SOS seriously. Any recommendations you beauty gods?! Hope you're all well. PS I am loving my iPhone its amaze, I'm a geek I know!
