Sundays - Walks In The Park & Lavender Ice Cream

Morning guys,

So a couple of weeks back my sister and I spent the weekend together and for once in England the weather was glorious, it was really starting to feel like Summer. We decided to make the most of the weather and get out in the sun. First off, we went for a trip to our local Ice Cream Parlour - Thaymars. I had the most delicious Ice Cream I've ever had, Lavender flavour! It sounds crazy but it was amazing. I cannot express how much I enjoyed it and it was gluten free which is always a bonus. I would have never put that flavour combo together but it really worked. Oh and I also had a scoop of Coconut Ice Cream too, it was a flavour powerhouse!

We also trotted off to Rufford Park on the Sunday for a walk around the lake. Days like this are some of my favourites because you don't spend much money, you just get to take in the fresh air and views around you whilst still cramming in a bit of exercise.

How do you like to spend your weekends?

5 Ways To Completely Relax

Morning guys. Now, living in the digital age makes it all the more difficult to switch off. By switching off I mean completely relaxing and chilling out. That feeling is all too familiar , when you're surrounded by social media and bulletins sent via Buzzfeed on a daily basis it can be hard to just put down your phone and stop scrolling. I am just as guilty as the next person of not switching off but in an attempt to save my vision from becoming somewhat square from looking at a screen all day long and for my own health, I have curated together a hand crafted list of how to just chill out. You ready?

1. Have a Bubble Bath - I'm talking the whole palava, that's right, an excessive amount of bubbles, bath bombs, face masks, candles, lights down, hair masks, exfoliators, scrubs, the whole lot. This is one of my favourite ways to just relax and also a way to pamper my self. Sunday's are usually my favourite day to conduct this military pampering procedure as you've got a whole day of laziness ahead. Why not even just go the whole way and lacquer your nails and tootsies as well? You could even blow dry your hair properly (something I never do, ooops) and moisturize your face and body. Think of it as your body perfecting overhaul. Scrub yourself up squeaky clean and smelling lovely whilst relaxing in the process.

2. Read - I know that was a very generic term but whatever you do, read. Whether your prefer picking up a chat Magazine, your daily Newspaper or a book, just make time for it. It can help to further your knowledge or if you want - it can have the desired effect of sending you into a snoozing slumber mid way through the page. I buy books all the time but never end up reading them, this is something I want to make more time for and you should too!

3. Baking/Cooking - What better way to relax than by serving up delicious baked goods? Or, if you're not much of a baker opt for something savoury. Something I find very satisfying is planning my meals for the week and cooking in batches. Even if you're one of them who just finds cooking stressful, find relief in the fact that if you batch cook your food/treats for the week, when you get home from work or uni you can just bang your meal in the microwave. I also love baking treats and freezing them. I am also a big fan of pre-prepping my smoothies by adding my fruit contents into a sandwich bag, then the next morning it's just a  case of throwing your ingredients into the blender, ice cold and super healthy!

4. Go for a walk - This is something I love to do, I often go on walks with my dad during the week and occasionally with my sisters or Kyle if I get the chance. I'll be honest, having a dog sometimes helps to initiate this activity as it is a requirement that you have to go and walk your pooch. If you haven't got a dog just ask a sibling/friend/significant other to go on a walk with you. Choose your route and off you go. The best places are the ones that make you have no service on your phone, no temptations!

5. Designate Phone Free Zones - I know many people have tried to put this rule in place in their households in a bid to getting a family more social and less well unsociable. It can be easier said than done but if you for example set certain times in which you're allowed to use social media and places where using your phone is forbidden i.e. your bedroom, the dinner table etc - Eventually you will hopefully have conditioned yourself to know that once you get into bed its a zen zone where the world of social media and scrolling is not allowed, soon enough it will become the norm to reach for a book and get a good nights rest.

What are your tip tops for relaxing?

Life Lately #3

Morning Guys!

This is my 3rd installment of the 'Life Lately' post which seems to have become a regular feature on the blog.

So I guess you all want to know what I've been up to in the past month or so? I'll take that as a yes seen as that's why you're here!

This month has been all about figuring out a gym routine that works, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and really about stepping everything up a gear when it comes to my lifestyle. I've got some products that have recently appeared in my snacking staples - Alpro Desserts. These little Dessert Pots are amazing, if you've got a sweet tooth like me and constantly crave chocolate these are a fantastic option. They're Dairy Free and they aren't too bad for you either. You guys already know how much I love Alpro products so I wont harp on about them too much (for the time being!).

This month has been full of adventure, I've been on lots of long walks to forests and parks, celebrated some birthdays and also went to the Seaside! My dad, Biscuit and I recently took a day out in Scarborough. With me having never really been to the seaside, I found it so much fun. We did the cliche old thing and had fish and chips by the sea and also had Ice Cream - I went for Coconut and it was incredible. Biscuit swam in the sea for the first time and absolutely loved it.

Kyle finished University for the summer this month as well so it's great knowing that I get to spend the summer with him (when we both aren't working).

I'm really enjoying doing this little feature on my blog because I get to reflect on what I've done throughout the month and it kinda reminds me that my life isn't as boring as I think it is!

Anyways back to what you're all here for - the little bites of what I've loving this month and all that jazz...

Sooo this is what life has been all about lately...

Focusing on - Getting the perfect monochrome summer wardrobe (Least I have my priorities right hey!)
Trying - I'm trying to keep a gym routine going and only eating at certain times of the day.
Obsessed with - I'm obsessed with salad at the moment, salad topped with the Pizza Express House Dressing. Yummy!
Been to - The seaside!
Craving - Nothing at present, makes a change...
Looking Forward to - I'm looking forward to lots of things at the moment - going to Stockholm is probably number 1 on my list (only 3 weeks away now eeek!). I'm also looking forward to going to my Aunties wedding this week and finally getting my hair done!
Dreaming About - Driving and getting my little office space sorted - next month hopefully both of these will be full swing in action.
Reflecting On - How I should start living in the moment and maybe not think about uploading something to Instagram in real time and just wait til afterwards. Sometimes I think we get caught up in this artificial world and whether it really all matters? I'll not babble on anymore though, maybe that's for another post!
Currently Wanting to - Go shopping and then grab a Boost Juice.
Reading - Nothing much to report this month guys, I'll be honest I haven't read much apart from other blogs.
Addicted to - Well again its got to be Orange Is The New Black as series 2 has just come out!

What have you been up to lately? Comment below I'd love to hear!

Soap & Glory Haul

As with the majority of beauty fanatics in the UK - I am soooo obsessed with Soap & Glory and have been for years, every Christmas without fail my lovely nanny seems to buy me a huge hamper of Soap & Glory products that tend to keep me going a while and then it's up to me to keep topping up on my fave items!

Some of the products I have well and truly fallen for are:
Sugar Crush Body Wash £6.50
Sugar Crush Body Scrub £8
Orangegasm Body Wash £6.50
Hand Food £5
The Righteous Butter £10.50
Peaches & Clean 3 in 1 Face Wash £8
Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion £10

I use all of the products every day without fail - perhaps with the exception of the Sugar Crush Body Scrub as you don't need to exfoliate every single day. Also, I tend to mix and swap about with the Sugar Crush and Orangegasm Body Wash depending on my  mood. One thing is certain about all the S&G range is the fact they all smell beyond amazing and really do make you feel scrubbed up and squeaky clean. I believe their products do the world of good for my body and I couldn't be without them now.

I think another reason I am drawn towards Soap & Glory is 1 - because the packaging is so pretty and girly and maybe a little bit gimicky and 2 - because they're against testing on animals!

Now I know everyone has a different idea of how much they're willing to pay for something and at first Soap & Glory might scream 'little bit expensive' but they're sooo worth that little bit extra, they last ages and they smell out of this world. Also, they may seem expensive but remember your getting probably 3x times as much product as you would do with standard body washes etc in Wilkos and Boots. PLUS they're normally all on offer on 3 for 2 and you get your Boots Advantage Points as well so everyone is a winner!

I am obsessed with hand food and have it at my desk so I can moisturize my hands throughout the day at work as it is something I struggle with. I use the Peaches & Clean face wash daily and then moisturize with either the Butter Yourself Lotion or Righteous Butter depending on how much TLC my skin needs. The Righteous Butter is a lot thicker than Butter Yourself - I tend to use that if my body is in need of deep moisturizing but if my skin is fine I just use Butter Yourself to maintain that lovely softness - you're supposed to use it when you've just got out of the bath or shower when your skin is still a little damp and oh my it works treat.

Life Lately

Hello lovelies!

So where the heck have I been and what have I been doing may you ask?

Well if I'm honest I've been really busy just lately - with work, switching jobs etc. If I'm totally honest my spark had just gone for a while and I didn't really feel like blogging. I've been reading other peoples blogs religiously every day but have in turn ended up neglecting my own.  I supposed however this time for me to think has given me more of a chance to reflect on what my blog is really all about and the direction I want it to move onto.

Soooo for whoever is bothered about what I've been doing, life lately has been all about:

Focusing on - Saving money & getting fit
Trying- Alpro products and smoothies
Obsessed with - Pinterest boards for inspo
Been to - Edinburgh, Newcastle & Leeds
Craving - a holiday
Looking forward to - going on holiday! (Hopefully Venice)
Dreaming about - having a mini cooper or fiat 500
Reflecting on - how I want this blog to be more of a lifestyle blog than fashion
Currently wanting to - eat my M&S salad for lunch :(
Reading - Wolf of Wall Street
Addicted to - Breaking Bad (on the last season now)

Here is some of my best moments of 2014 so far below, along with the odd random snaps! :)
